David Gower is at the crease to launch to launch the second Test Valley Business Awards.

David Gower OBE, former England test cricket captain, opens the 2005 Test Valley Business Awards scheme on Tuesday 24 May 2005 at a buffet luncheon to be held at The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Ampfield.

The EPS Networks Business in the Community Award

Entry Criterion: How the business and its staff have actively benefited the community.

The Hampshire County Council Small Business of the Year Award

Small businesses are the life blood of any economy making up to 75% of all businesses, and the County Council is keen to put the spotlight on some of Test Valley’s outstanding small firms.

Entry Criterion: Any business employing up to 15 people.

The Roke Manor Research Award for Technological Innovation

Open to companies that have developed an exciting creative idea that has led to a successful outcome.

Entry Criterion: Developing and applying technology.

Test Valley Borough Council New Business of the Year Award

Starting a new business is a challenge, and the TVBC is keen to support new business start-ups.

Entry Criterion: Open to businesses that began trading after 1 January 2003.

Town Centre Management Award for Retail Excellence

A vibrant community needs a vibrant town centre, in which shops play the key role.

Entry Criterion: Open to participants of the Town Centre Management Mystery Shopper scheme in Andover and Romsey.
