Roke Wins People Excellence Award

Roke Manor Research was the proud winner of the HSA Business Excellence through People Award at the Test Valley Business Awards 2007. Roke was selected from over 20 companies down to a shortlist of three, and was presented with the award and certificate at a prestigious awards ceremony, at Chilworth Manor, Southampton on 23rd April.

Having motivated, healthy and happy staff is key to any successful company and Roke constantly demonstrates innovative and creative ways of developing its staff. The key areas highlighted in winning the award were a commitment to employee wellbeing, enlightened staff development and reward and recognition for going the extra mile.

The judges were particularly impressed with Roke's facilities with a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, and RMSSC clubs ranging from yoga to football. The flexible benefits scheme 'My choice' and Roke's flexi-time arrangements also warranted a special mention.

More than 200 local businesses entered the competition this year which was hosted by football legend Lawrie McMenemy. The evening also saw several thousand pounds raised for the charity Special Olympics Great Britain, of which Mr McMenemy is chairman.
