Autoland Team with award.
Autoland, based on 20 years of image processing expertise, provides a passive, self-contained auto-landing capability for both fixed and rotary wing UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). Autoland utilises a full motion video from an on-board camera and processing to enable a UAV to land automatically, even when the desired landing platform is in motion.

Congratulations to the team at Roke comprising of Ed Sparks, Andrew Jordan, Maria North, and Rob Whitehouse.

The Autoland project was funded by the Systems Engineering for Autonomous Systems (SEAS) Defence Technology Centre (DTC), who had the initial requirement to automatically land a UAV onto a moving platform. Roke worked in collaboration with Blue Bear Systems Research, Bristol University, MBDA and the SEAS DTC to develop and deliver this solution.
