Multi-Static Primary Surveillance Radar

Challenge	Roke has recently conducted a study for Eurocontrol to determine whether wind turbines or wind farms deployed in the vicinity of a Multi-Static Primary Surveillance Radar (MSPSR)could impact upon the performance of the system and, if so, the severity of the impact.
Approach	Identification of potential mechanisms by which a wind farm can impact an MSPSR system. Analysis of potential mechanisms to identify the nature and severity of their impact. Investigation into potential mitigation techniques. Investigation into using MSPSR as a 'gap filler' system to supplement the capabilities of existing monostatic radar systems.

Roke has a proven track record of simulating MSPSR systems using the Multi Static Radar Modelling Tool (MSRMT) and predicting the interaction of radio navigation systems with wind farms using Roke's Epsilon™ Radar Cross Section Prediction Tool
