Roke, formally Plessey, has been designing and developing Military communications radios since the 1950s. Following a takeover of the Plessey group by Siemens in the early 1990s, Roke adapted it’s skills to offer design and development services in cellular communications developing 2G, 2.5G and 3G products.
Roke has continued to provide COTS based and bespoke leading edge terminal solutions to it's customers and is able to provide value added services from feasibility and concept design to handing over type approved designs ready for mass production.

Examples of terminal developments
Roke has led mobile terminal development from the first GSM devices through to the latest HSDPA technology. Roke developed the Siemens 3G SG75 and the worlds first HSDPA card which was demonstrated at the 3GSM World Congress, Cannes, 2005. Following the sale of Siemens Mobile Devices, Roke now offers the services of it’s world class development centre to others seeking advantage over their competitors.
Roke has developed for Signature Industries (SI) a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) product. Initially Roke were asked to quote only for the electronics development, but after a few meetings SI were convinced that Roke should develop the entire product. Read more...
