Develop, evaluate, test, and demonstrate new SON concepts quickly and easily with our dedicated SON testbed environment.
Self Organising Networks (SON) is an umbrella term which in practice covers Self Configuration, Self Optimisation and Self Healing of communications networks. The goal is to enable the successful deployment and operation of networks with the minimum human operator intervention.
Roke has developed a SON testbed which provides operators and vendors with a platform for prototyping new SON concepts, algorithms, and protocols. It allows candidate SON solutions and options to be quickly assessed in different scenarios for complex networks, something which can be difficult, or even impossible, using analysis alone.
Features
The SON Test-bed supports the following:
- rapid prototyping with a short turnaround time between concept the evaluation
- evidence based assessment of options and alternative designs
- assessment and verification across different network scenarios and configurations
- development of product-ready solutions
Benefits
- Concept proving to support standardisation efforts
- Reduced time between concept and product (faster time to market)
- Verification that solutions are robust and fit-for purpose
- Fine-tuning of algorithms to optimise network efficiency
- Demonstration of the benefits of new SON solutions to your customers
Roke has used its vast experience in cellular networks, control-plane development, network management, intelligent networks, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and simulation and modelling in the development of the SON testbed.
If you require a test platform or SON expertise to develop new concepts, algorithms, or protocols then please contact us and discover how our SON testbed can help you.
