CTF Testing

Formal CTF testing consists of conformance testing and interoperability testing. The results feed in to CESG’s HAIPE^® certification process. For further details and a Statement of Work please contact ctf@roke.co.uk.

Informal Device Testing

Roke recognises that cryptographic device vendors may require additional services before applying for formal testing. Thus the Roke CTF is able to provide a customised range of informal test support services, including:

• Support in setting up the HIT tool at the vendor’s premises
• Informal CTF testing prior to application for formal testing
• Responsibility for either a part of or for the full system testing of the vendor's device

Stress and Performance Testing

Our customisable service enables us to work with you to specify the tests required to meet your needs. As well as the HAIPE^® specification tests our engineers can specify other network tests suited to your application. This can include tests to stress the network and determine the performance envelope for a mix of voice, data and other services.

Full Network Topology

As part of our customised service we can setup a full topology network of equipment to test the interactions between the HAIPE^® and other network devices, such as routers, firewalls and application servers. The network can be tailored to represent the end application network which allows a suite of end user tests to be applied and correct operation verified. This can be a very cost effective way to verify a network design prior to full procurement and installation.

Why use an External Test Facility?

An external test facility with experience in fixed and mobile networks, both commercial and defence, can provide consultancy in networked systems as well as specifying and running the tests. Roke is such a facility, which is also used by CESG to formally test devices as part of the HAIPE^® certification process. We can compliment your design team by offering an independent and external view to any assumptions made in the design process. Having core hardware and software development skills also enables us to interact at all levels.

Background in HAIPE

We have a long track record of working with the IETF standards that go into the HAIPE^® and have worked directly in IETF standardisation. More recently we have been working with CESG to define the profiles for the HAIPE^® specifications. We have experience of working with a HAIPE^® vendor in the initial test specification creation. This, together with our independence in the HAIPE^® marketplace, puts us in a unique position to be the CTF and offer a variety of additional testing services.
