Graduate profile: Emma

"I joined the Image Processing Group as a software engineer straight from University.

I have been involved in a wide variety of projects including ejector seat tracking and sound propagation modelling. I was also heavily involved in the initial development of our Video Motion Anomaly Detection (VMAD) software, which is regularly used to demonstrate Roke’s innovative skills to customers.

...my knowledge is growing all the time...

After just three years here I was promoted to manager of the Vision Processing group, which has been extremely challenging. In addition to managing the group and looking after individual needs the job requires me to develop business for the group by meeting customers and translating their needs into opportunities for Roke. Although I no longer officially have a technical role, my abilities in this area are still stretched and my knowledge is growing all the time.

In my spare time I am the Social Secretary for the Roke Sports and Social club which has involved the organisation of a number of events including the Beer Festival and Bonfire Night Celebrations."
