"I joined Roke as a Skill Group Manager with the mission of setting up a new skill group for Software Services.
With 15 years of commercial experience in the IT industry, predominantly within a software house environment, I welcomed the challenge of applying my experience to Roke.
I was attracted to Roke by their diversity of technology...
I was attracted to Roke by their diversity of technology, the professional approach and the variety of work that one gets involved in. As a skill group manager I am responsible for the management of projects, line management of my team, business development, team utilisation and steering the focus of my team on improving development processes.
With the support of my Business Unit Director and fellow Skill Group Managers I have set up a new skill group which has a focus of improving development processes. This involves documenting, educating people and creating a procedure for processes within the complete software lifecycle from development processes, requirements capture, incident management and testing.

I am also responsible for building and managing the relationship that Roke has with offshore partners. They provide low cost software development which we wrapper with expert engineering skills and domain knowledge to provide a complete solution to our customers at attractive prices.
My views on Roke after my first nine months here are that it is a great company to work for; everyone is friendly and helpful, the technical expertise is second to none, the company is honourable and the management are supportive and keen to recognise and promote individuals who deserve success."
