Propagation Modelling

We have many radio propagation planning tools and deployment aids for communications, air traffic management and navigation, covering LF to SHF.

Channel Modelling

LoS in Urban CanyonNew developments by us have made it possible to now model the two dimensional (delay and Doppler) radio channel. This is useful in modern digital communications / navigation systems where it is often the case that the signal strength is sufficient, but channel dispersion and multi-path distort the signal's symbols too much and BER is raised to an unacceptable level.

Our channel modelling tool takes a CAD model of the environment and couples this with a full phasor-vector electromagnetic solver. From this analysis parameters such as signal depolarisation, as well as delay and Doppler can all be modelled. BER can then be predicted to obtain the distorted signal at the receiver.
