Search tips
- Use phrases
- Place your query in quotes (") to search for an exact phrase. Using quotes makes the search engine return results where words must appear adjacent to each other. e.g. "Miniature Radar Altimeter".
- Include / exclude words
- Use a plus (+) and/or a minus (-) sign to indicate whether or not a search result must/must not contain certain words or characters. e.g. +phones -umts, would find pages on phones but not UMTS.
- Wildcards
- Use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard. e.g Searching for wh* will search for all words starting with Wh, and a search for *her* will find all words containing her.
- Combinations
- Combine all of the above. e.g "DAB Design" -award, would find all pages having the phrase "DAB Design", but exclude those pages which may mention the awards it has won.
