We are assisting the MoD in technology development with our significant involvement in both their research industry partnership initiatives - Towers of Excellence, and Defence Technology Centres.
Towers of Excellence
Towers of Excellence are a key focus mechanism for directing resources into priority areas of technology research identified by the Ministry of Defence and UK defence industry. Of the six areas, we are involved in:
- Guided weapons
- Radar
- Underwater sensors
- Electronic warfare - we chair the Integrated Solutions Special Interest Group
Defence Technology Centres
Defence Technology Centres were setup to encourage the development of new enabling-level technologies.

- Systems Engineering Autonomous Systems (SEAS) DTC
