Electronic support
A range of specialist electronic support technologies for radar, communications and navigation applications.
Roke has been working in electronic support since its foundation some 50 years ago. Today we have a major team encompassing R&D in:

Electronic protection measures
Roke are providers of state of art anti-jamming systems with particular expertise in adaptive array solutions. Our capabilities have been employed on numerous projects including Sampson, MESAR, ARTIST, and most recently ARTISAN 3D (a contender for the new British Navy radar). A number of these employ advanced digital adaptive beamforming to provide protection against both sidelobe and mainbeam jamming.
A further major example is anti-jam protection for GPS. This uses a digital adaptive array to simultaneously provide jammer nulling and beamforming on satellites.
Electronic Surveillance Measures
Geolocation and advanced direction finding systems are a key aspect of our ESM activities. For example, our N-channel system provides superresolution DF and adaptive beamforming in complex signal environments.
Systems have been developed from a few 10’s of kHz to 10’s of GHz. Both conventional and modern signal waveforms are accommodated (both military and civil).
Advanced wideband surveillance is provided by our in house low power digital receivers and associated signal processing. Networking of Roke Acquisition and Geolocation Sensor (AGS) units provide for both DF and TDOA based geolocation.
Electronic support products
We also offer a range of electronic support products ranging from specialist antennas, arrays, wideband tuners, wideband digital receivers, and N-channel wideband digital receiver systems. These product building blocks can be customised as required to provide complex wideband electronic support systems.
