Network management

Preempt and categorise network failures to ensure continuous levels of service for your customers.

In addition to world-class network fault management capabilities, we also advise on network configuration management, and develop custom management terminals for configuration and maintenance.

Network fault management

"We have a world leading service and network problem management capability to be proud of."

John Bateman

Other companies will offer you network fault management systems which monitor network equipment. Our approach is different. We consider the network as a whole, the services provided, and the impact on customers.

Managing network faults in this way allows the root cause of alarms to be identified and resolution strategies identified to maintain priority services.

FeaturesBenefits
System view of network and servicesMore intelligence than simply monitoring multiple equipment alarms.
Multiple networks monitoredRoot causes are quickly identified, even across domains.
Customer and network alarm correlationBetter use of resources as multiple teams avoid investigating the same problem.
Impact on service monitoredMaintenance can be targeted to high priority faults.
Customer impact modelledRepairs prioritised to maintain guarantees made in Service Level Agreements.
Customer reported faults matched to network faultsProper responses can be given to customers as faults already identified.
Cost of repairs reduced as customer reported faults stopped at help desk.

Network configuration management

We can help you configure end-to-end network services across different protocols, topologies, and technology.

  • Organisational changes
  • Network amalgamation
  • Network changes/upgrades
  • Distributed networks

Local Management Terminals

Designed for new products, Local Management Terminals (LMTs) provide equipment vendors with a tool to manage and configure deployed equipment. Primarily aimed at providing maintenance functions for field engineers, they are also used for commissioning, reconfiguration, fault management, and performance analysis.

LMTs for Siemens 3G basestations and Radio Network Controllers were developed by us; other application areas also exist.
