Roke Manor Research (Roke) will be trialling the world’s first unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of landing autonomously on a moving ship using vision technology during the Royal Navy’s Unmanned Warrior exercise in October.

 

Roke Manor Research (Roke) today launches its Radio Interference Mitigation service, which will help industries that wirelessly monitor systems and services to overcome interference, increase reliability and decrease operating costs of radio-based equipment.

The Ministry of Defence (MOD), as part of its Defence Growth Partnership (DGP) Innovation Challenge, has selected Roke Manor Research (Roke) to develop an innovative data link solution capable of transmitting real-time images and video from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) using 3G cellular technology.

Today the UK's most promising amateur cyber defenders will compete to avert a simulated biological attack on a royal engagement in the grounds of Westminster Abbey, staged by a fictional cyber terrorist group. The competition, known as Masterclass and run by the Cyber Security Challenge UK, has been developed by QinetiQ and a consortium of the country's elite cyber experts from, Bank of England, GCHQ, National Crime Agency, BT, Cisco, Falanx Group, Roke Manor Research, Simudyne, and United States based CyberCENTS Solutions.

The University of Southampton today launches a new Cyber Security Academy, which will be announced at the IA15 event in London, hosted by GCHQ. Roke Manor Research (Roke) is one of three founding members from world-leading cyber and defence organisations, which aim to make the UK more resilient to cyber-attack.
