Great ideas come from different minds. That’s why we bring together engineers, scientists, analysts, and creatives from every background — and give them the trust, tools, and freedom to make a difference. What connects us is the mission: solving meaningful problems and building capability that protects what matters most.

And as the challenges evolve, so do we — working on the technologies that will shape tomorrow, not just today.

Roke is a world-class technology and engineering consultancy. Roke delivers advanced research, development services and products to high profile customers who come to Roke with varied and challenging problems to solve.

We are seeking a diligent and professional Security Advisor to support the effective delivery of security activities across the organisation. The role will focus on vetting, aftercare, and the ongoing management of security-related personnel information, whilst also supporting the physical security arrangements in place when required to ensure compliance with relevant security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong understanding of personnel vetting and aftercare processes, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work accurately and effectively as part of a team.

As a valued member of the Roke Security Team, reporting to the Head of Protective Security within the Corporate Services Directorate, you will use your experience as a Security Advisor to deliver advice and support to all aspects of the organisation in a timely manner. We’re looking for a self-starter and ‘people person’ to thrive within our growing Security team.

  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential personnel security records in accordance with organisational policy and data protection requirements.
  • Liaising professionally with employees, managers, and relevant external bodies in relation to personnel security matters.
  • Monitoring vetting status and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Assisting with audits, reviews, and assurance activities related to protective security measures.
  • Providing administrative and operational support to the wider security team as required including support to physical security activities, such as access control processes, classified material handling and destruction etc.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of security processes and procedures.
  • Developing and providing personnel security awareness training.
  • Undertaking international travel security risk assessments and providing  travellers with briefings.
