INTRODUCTION
In this case study, we demonstrate how Roke provided close target reconnaissance and individual force protection through the use of a bespoke lightweight dismounted close quarter Electronic Surveillance manpack.
THE CHALLENGE
An urgent operational requirement was issued specifically to us to provide a bespoke lightweight dismounted close quarter Electronic Surveillance manpack for use on unsupported long range patrols.
THE APPROACH
Using the existing PREFIX Electronic Surveillance software and the VIPER Mission Information application, a tailored system was redesigned around rigorous customer Size Weight and Power (SWaP) requirements and delivered within 18 months of contract award.
THE OUTCOME
A rugged but light-weight solution based on Roke’s RESOLVE 3 operationally proven technology was developed. This provided the user with the ability to conduct Electronic Surveillance over a range of unsupported mission profiles often at depth with the ability to interact with the system on the go via a ruggedized tablet.
