EM-Vis Deceive® is a dismounted Electronic Attack (EA) capability. Integrated and interoperable with EM-Vis Review EW Command & Control Software and ES sensors, ensures increased agility to address emergent frequencies or existing ones.
New Capabilities – Created Through Experience
The ability to rapidly and cost effectively reconfigure Electromagnetic Warfare systems that allow you to address evolving threats or operational challenges provides your military leaders / EW operators with previously unachievable agility.
EM-Vis Deceive® is the first person-borne, modular, open standards compliant delivering mission specific, electromagnetic protection and configuration.
Understanding EM-Vis Deceive®
-
Modular
OpenCPI generated Applications enabling new techniques and wrapping existing ones.
-
Open Standards
OpenCPI enables Applications to be developed and embedded to the system.
-
Scalable
Supports increased power outputs and “stacking” of units.
-
Upgradable
Swap-in/swap-out of SDRs to address emergent frequencies, threats or roles.
Quick & Easy
Fully integrated with EM-Vis Review EW Command & Control Software Suite, it’s possible for EM-Vis Deceive® to be embedded via a single operator tool to use Roke or third-party EW Sensors to identify and fix adversary frequencies that can then be specifically targeted using specialist techniques rather than “brute force attack”.
The Electromagnetic Warfare Platform for the Future
Mission bespoke, modular, open-standards based, and with customer-definable frequency coverage to bring your dismounted Electromagnetic Warfare operators into the future.
Person Borne EW
EM-Vis Deceive® is the first-in-class full-system carried by operators, bringing Electronic Attack where it wasn’t before; on the move and on the ground.
Rugged & adaptable
A fortified OpenVPX™ chassis has capacity for two SOSA™ aligned 3U plug-in modules for mission adaptability and through life enhancement, interconnected through a high-speed backplane topology.
Tailored to Mission
Two independent radio heads can be tailored to mission specific application requirements or fitted with multi-purpose wide-band power amplifiers – supporting a broad range of CEMA use cases and deployments.

ABOUT EM-VIS DECEIVE®
EM-Vis Deceive® is a dismounted modular Electromagnetic Attack (EA) system from Roke, designed to be carried to detect, monitor and disrupt enemy signals like drones and communications.
It counters threats from communications systems, uncrewed aerial systems (UAS or drones), frequency-agile transmitters, and other adversary electromagnetic signals across a broad RF band.
Both. EM-Vis Deceive® is an active system when it transmits electromagnetic energy (via jamming and signal disruption), but can also be passively monitor the RF spectrum.
Primarily designed for dismounted (soldier-borne) deployment, EM-Vis Deceive® is rapidly reconfigurable and scalable so can also be used on vehicle platforms or in static roles depending on mission requirements.
The primary users are military forces and defence organisations who need front-line, mission configurable Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) capability, including both EW specialists and general troops (with minimal training) to respond to electromagnetic threats.
EM‑Vis Deceive® is a person-portable, modular Electromagnetic Attack (EA) system that enables dismounted teams to deliver non-kinetic effects in the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) such as jamming, deception, and denial-across contested environments.
Yes. EM‑Vis Deceive® has been designed with a simple user interface and minimal training requirement. It enables both EW specialists and generalist operators to deploy electromagnetic effects quickly and effectively in the field.
Yes. The system is built using open standards (SOSA, STICS, OpenCPI), enabling interoperability with a wide range of other EW, C2, and spectrum management platforms.
Yes. It is compact and lightweight (<10kg) and can be deployed by individuals on foot, enabling full mobility while delivering tactical EW effects.
Designed and tested for operation in military environments including extremes of temperature −32°C to +55°C operation and harsh conditions.
The system is modular, allowing operators to scale power and capability depending on the threat environment or mission complexity.
Yes. EM‑Vis Deceive® can be integrated with Roke’s EM-Vis Review for mission planning, data-driven tasking, and live re-tasking support. We also support for integration to other 3rd party applications.
TECHNOLOGY EXPLAINED
Electromagnetic Attack (EA) is the use of electromagnetic energy to degrade, deny. disrupt, deceive or destroy an adversaries electromagnetic systems.
The intent of Electromagnetic Attacks (EA) is to deny an adversary effective use of the electromagnetic spectrum while safeguarding friendly operations.
An effector in a military and technological context is a system or device that is used to achieve a desired operational outcome or “effect”. It is the part of an integrated system designed to deliver the actual result, such as disrupting, deceiving, or destroying a target. Effectors may also be known as a radio, Radiohead, jammer, RF inhibitor, or exciter.
