When volume is your most precious resource, compromise shouldn’t be on performance. Our low-profile radar altimeter delivers class-leading performance in a refined, slim package engineered for compact unmanned systems, and high-efficiency airframes. Ideal for designers who need altitude measurement in minimal size and thickness envelopes.
Precision at Pace
The Low-Profile Radar Altimeter delivers the same trusted performance as our Nav-Sync MRA, now engineered for tight envelopes, flush integration, and SWaP-critical UAVs. Ideal for micro-UAS and high-speed platforms, it offers full-precision radar altitude sensing in a slimmer form.
When every mm counts, choose the low profile version. Where envelope allows, choose the standard Nav-Sync MRA.
Nav-Sync MRA LP Use Cases & Advantages
-
Ultra-Compact Form Factor
High-performance radar altimetry in a reduced-height design for micro-UAS, VTOL, and other space-limited platforms.
-
Integration Flexibility
Our low profile supports streamlined integration and aerodynamic efficiency, making it ideal for platforms with constrained design envelopes.
-
Embedded / Flush Mounting
Fits behind conformal skins or within compact fuselages for streamlined integration and aerodynamic efficiency.
-
Minimal Interference
Compact structure and internal shielding cut electromagnetic coupling, supporting EMC-sensitive systems.
-
Reclaim Space & Add Capability
Reclaim valuable space on low SWaP platforms using the standard MRA or larger altimeters and use that space to add capability that differentiates your platform.

MRA on MARS
We’re proud to have contributed to the British Beagle 2 Mars Lander mission. An early version of Roke’s Miniature Radar Altimeter (MRA) played a critical role in deploying the airbag system that cushioned the lander’s descent to the Martian surface on Christmas Day 2003. The technology was rigorously tested throughout its 200-million-kilometre journey from Earth to Mars, operating in one of the most demanding environments imaginable.
