Operational Technology

Operational Technology (OT) relates to the hardware and software systems that monitor and control physical processes, infrastructure, and equipment within military operations.  

OT encompasses industrial control systems, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, weapons control systems, radar and sensor networks, communications infrastructure, and base management systems.

Unlike traditional IT systems that handle data and communications, OT directly controls physical military assets and operations, making security paramount. 

OT can be enhanced through AI and autonomous systems processing real-time data from sensors, radar, and surveillance systems to enhance situational awareness and automate threat detection. By analysing sensor data to forecast failures before they occur, AI can also ensure operational readiness.
