ROKE JOINS THE MOD’S DDAD FRAMEWORK

News
28th January 2026

Roke has been selected for the UK Ministry of Defence’s Digital Decision Accelerators for Defence (DDAD) Open Framework, securing places on two key lots: Lot2 (Accelerators) and Lot5 (Services). This recognition reflects our growing role in advancing the next generation of digital decisionsupport for defence.

As one of only six suppliers appointed to the maximum two lots, we are proud to be contributing to the £180million DDAD programme and helping shape the MOD’s future decisionsupport landscape. Alongside 25 other companies, we will support the British Army as it moves towards more datadriven, connected and coalitionready operations, ensuring the UK and its allies maintain a decisive advantage in modern warfare.

WHY THE FRAMEWORK EXISTS

DDAD is a long term Open Framework established by the Ministry of Defence to accelerate the delivery of advanced digital decision support across the Armed Forces. Its purpose is straightforward: to strengthen the UK’s decision advantage, giving commanders the ability to make faster, better informed choices in complex, data rich and contested environments.

Focusing on the “Decide” phase of the Sense–Decide–Effect cycle, the framework brings together AI and machine learning, trusted data integration, scalable mission applications and resilient edge technology to increase the speed and accuracy of operational decisions.

DDAD is also the primary delivery route for ASGARD, the Army’s flagship Transformative Capability Initiative under the Growth Through Transformation strategy. By aligning procurement with this modernisation agenda, the framework enables rapid, iterative and scalable deployment of decision support tools, all built on open, interoperable principles and designed for future growth.

WHAT THESE LOTS AIM TO DELIVER

Within DDAD, each lot contributes a distinct part of the digital decisionsupport ecosystem.

  • Lot2 – Accelerators is focused on speeding up insight generation. By applying AI and machine learning tools, it reduces time to insight and helps turn complex information into clear, actionable decisions.
  • Lot5 – Services provides the specialist enablers needed to bring these capabilities into practical use; training, integration support and proof of concept development that ensure solutions can be adopted quickly, scaled effectively and improved continuously as operational needs evolve.

Together, these lots support the MOD’s ambition to enhance the speed, quality and usability of decision support across the force, ensuring new capabilities can be deployed and refined in line with the broader DDAD and ASGARD programmes.

ROKE’S COLLABORATIVE ROLE

The DDAD supplier group brings together UK companies, global primes and innovative SMEs, as a deliberately diverse ecosystem designed to accelerate progress while ensuring the UK retains access to the technologies critical to operational decisionmaking. Sovereignty, in this context, is not about doing everything alone; it is about ensuring assured access, trusted governance and the ability to evolve key capabilities when needed, while working seamlessly with international partners.

DDAD helps create this balance. It strengthens domestic capability, encourages innovation from across the global market and highlights where new partnerships or investment may be required. In a world where software increasingly defines operational advantage, having credible sovereign contributors working alongside international collaborators provides resilience without limiting participation.

“Our selection for two DDAD lots reflects Roke’s transformation into a modern, mission driven technology business. It highlights the strength of our people, our appetite for innovation, and our commitment to delivering sovereign capability that integrates effortlessly with our partners. Through ASGARD and DDAD, we’re helping the Army turn data into decisive action, speeding decision cycles, reducing cognitive burden, and strengthening operational advantage alongside allies.”

DELIVERING DECISION ADVANTAGE TODAY

Our capabilities are already supporting the next wave of decision support. Tools like CORTEXA GUARDIAN deliver AI enabled insight even in degraded, contested environments, giving commanders verified information in seconds, not minutes.

ZODIAC provides the secure, open backbone for Land ISTAR, while DDAD will allow us to push this decision advantage further – to the tactical edge – and evolve it at software speed, connecting sensor fusion to effect across UK and coalition formations.

LOOKING AHEAD

We look forward to collaborating with the MOD and the wider DDAD ecosystem to deliver practical, trustworthy and futureready decisionsupport capabilities. As requirements evolve, so will we, ensuring the Army has the insight, agility and tools it needs to make faster, smarter decisions alongside its partners.
